Victorville Route 66 Museum

Victorville, California, is a city of 115,900 people in southeastern San Bernardino County. Victorville lies on the edge of the Mojave Desert, north of San Bernardino. The I15 is the primary freeway through Victorville.

Victorville’s location on the edge of the desert makes it a prime spot for stargazing, and public observatories and educational programs are available at Victor Valley College Planetarium and the Lewis Center for Educational Research in nearby Apple Valley. Mojave Narrows Regional Park is located beside the Mojave River in Victorville and offers opportunities for fishing, boating, camping, hiking and horseback riding.

The famous Route 66 runs through Victorville, and the 10-block Old Town Victorville area is home to the Route 66 Museum. The International Route 66 Festival was expected to attract 50,000 to 100,000 enthusiasts for “the Mother Road” from all over the world to Victorville in August 2012.
