Los Angeles, CA: Disability Advocates of America, a team of local disability advocates serving the needs of California residents with disabilities, has chosen the winner for their 2021 Disability Advocate Scholarship.

About the Disability Advocate Scholarship

Disability Advocates of America works hard for the local community in California. As an accomplished clinical psychologist and attorney, Dr. Bill LaTour believes in the power of education and the promise of the California community. Because of this, his office launched The Disability Advocate Scholarship.

The Disability Advocate Scholarship provides one student with a $1,000 scholarship opportunity to use for tuition or education-related expenses. The scholarship was open to students that have a GPA of 3.0 or greater and have been accepted to or currently attend a 2- to 4-year college in California. Participants were asked to write an essay about themselves or someone they know who has been impacted by a disability or how they think they could make the world a better place for those living with disabilities.

The Scholarship Winner

While the Disability Advocate Scholarship received many impressive applications, one student stood out with an outstanding essay about disability advocacy. The winner of the Disability Advocate Scholarship is Morgan Bosma! Morgan plans to pursue a degree in psychology at Santa Monica College.
